1. Introduction

Songli ("we", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We are committed to GDPR-compliant data handling practices.

2. Social Media & Optional Consent

Sharing to social media is always your choice and never required for purchase. If you choose to share your song to YouTube, the video is published publicly on Songli's YouTube channel, including the recipient's first name in its title. Only the person who created the song can do this. You can ask us to remove a video at any time.

3. Data We Collect

We collect the following information when you use our service:

  • Recipient Name — Used solely to personalize the generated song lyrics and content.
  • Birth Date — Used to tailor the birthday theme. We do not use this for age verification or marketing.
  • Email Address — Collected by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, during checkout. Your receipt from them includes the link to your song. Songli does not send you marketing emails.
  • Music Genre Preference— Used to guide the AI music generation engine.
  • Usage Analytics — Page views and visit length, plus your country and device type. We store a keyed hash instead of your IP address, and nothing is saved on your device for analytics.

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for:

  • Generating the personalized song and video content you ordered.
  • Processing your payment through our payment provider.
  • Delivering the completed product through your private song link.
  • Improving our service and user experience.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers. Your input data (name, date, genre) is used solely to generate your content and is never shared with other users or used to create content for anyone else.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secure, encrypted database hosted in the EU. All connections use TLS encryption and access is restricted to authenticated service roles only.

Generated media (audio and video files) are stored on secure CDN infrastructure and are accessible only via unique, non-guessable URLs.

6. Third-Party Services

We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver our service, including:

  • AI generation providers— to create your personalized music and video content. Your inputs (name, date, genre, interests) are sent to them only to generate your song.
  • Payment provider — our Merchant of Record for payment processing, tax collection, and receipt issuance.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — for database storage, web hosting, and content delivery.
  • Web analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless page-view statistics that do not identify you.

Each of these services maintains its own privacy policy. We select providers that uphold high standards of data protection and security.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable privacy regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Port your data to another service.
  • Object to processing.

8. Data Retention

Generated songs, lyrics and cover art are kept for as long as your watch page is active; the karaoke video download is available for a limited time after creation. Account and transaction data is retained for a minimum of 6 years to comply with financial record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of personal data at any time.

9. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies, so no consent banner is needed: an owner cookie that lets the device that created a song use its owner features, and an admin session cookie for staff. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics stores nothing on your device. Our payment provider sets its own cookies when you open the checkout, to process your payment.

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided data to us, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
